In a recent press release, the Ashanti Regional Co-ordinating Council (ARCC) has moved to clarify misconceptions surrounding the recall of DRIP machines from various Metropolitan, Municipal, and District Assemblies (MMDAs).
The council has emphasized that not all DRIP machines are being recalled, contrary to earlier reports.
The ARCC stated that only specific types of machinery—Wheel Loaders, Bull Dozers, and Low Beds—are being recalled. These machines are intended to be stationed at the ARCC and will be released to MMDAs upon request and approval by the council.
This measure is aimed at ensuring efficient allocation and utilization of the equipment for regional development projects.
Ebenezer Bruce-Mills, the Public Relations Officer for the ARCC, reiterated that no other DRIP machines have been recalled. The council urged media houses and the public to disregard any inaccurate information suggesting a full recall of all DRIP machines.
This clarification comes as a relief to many MMDAs that rely on these machines for various infrastructural and developmental projects. The ARCC assured that the recall of the specified machines is a strategic move to enhance operational efficiency and not a withdrawal of support for local assemblies.
The Honorable Regional Minister, through the press release, thanked the media and the public for their understanding and cooperation, reaffirming the council’s commitment to transparency and effective resource management in the region.
