Asafa Powell, a Jamaican sprinting hero, has referred to his Ghanaian wife as the most beautiful woman in the entire world.
The Jamaican sprint king and his Ghanaian wife, Alyshia Akua Powell, are both in Ghana at the moment for business.
In an interview, Asafa Powell was asked to provide a 10-second introduction to himself to Ghanaians who were unfamiliar with him.
Answering the question, Asafa Powell jokingly said “I will only need 9 seconds.”
“I am Asafa Powell from Jamaica. I’m from humble beginnings,” he said, adding, “I forgot to say I am married to the most beautiful woman in the world.”
In 2019, Asafa Powell wed Alyshia Akua Powell. Alyshia was born in Ghana but immigrated to the US at a very young age with her family.
Model Alyshia has collaborated with some of the largest brands in the world.
With a personal best time of 9.72 seconds, Asafa Powell ranks as the fourth-fastest man in history.
