As a precursor to the 14th CAF Extraordinary General Assembly (EGA), a friendly exhibition match involving African Legends and the continent’s football administrators will be played on Monday, 10 March in Cairo, Egypt as a celebration of African Football.
The highly anticipated game will feature stars of the past, including four-time TotalEnergies CAF Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) winner Ahmed Hassan from Egypt and 1994 AFCON champion Jay Jay Okocha of Nigeria.
The fixture, which has become a mainstay activity at CAF events, will be staged at the Egyptian Football Association’s Technical Centre, and will feature Presidents from a number of CAF Member Associations.
FIFA President Gianni Infantino is expected to be present at the game.
This matchup is an opportunity to showcase football skills beyond the boardroom for the game’s stakeholders, and a perfect platform to kickoff the week’s EGA activities.
With the CAF Zonal Union meetings taking place during the day on Monday, the friendly game is expected to further unite all the stakeholders together, bringing out their competitive spirit on the field of play.
The 14th CAF Extraordinary General Assembly will be held in Cairo on Wednesday, 12 March 2025, at the Marriott Mena House overlooking the magnificent Great Pyramids of Giza – one of the seven wonders of the ancient world.
The EGA, starting at 10h00 Cairo Time (08h00 GMT), will be broadcast on CAF TV.
