Seasoned football administrator Eric Alagidede has bemoaned the future of the Black Stars of Ghana if these two particular players remain starters.

The Black Stars of Ghana have come under immense pressure amid criticism of their performance at the 2027 AFCON qualifiers.

Having suffered two defeats in their first two games of the qualifiers against the Ivory Coast and the Gambia, chances of qualifying for the next year’s showpiece.

Kwasi Sibo’s partnership with the young Caleb Yirenkyi in the midfield has been much criticised by fans, with many calling for the exclusion of the former.

“We have a long way to go if Sibo and Yirenkyi remain our starters,” Alagidede reacted on Max FM’s Sports Pack show following Ghana’s defeat to the Gambia.

The former general manager of the Great Olympics continued that some of the players did not deserve to represent the country while questioning if there is a long-term plan for Ghanaian football.

“Some of the players did not deserve to play for the Black Stars… What we saw shows Ghana has no long-term plan. What we do now is fire service approach.”

Ghana remains bottom of Group C of the 2027 AFCON qualifiers after losing 2-4 at home to the Gambia.
