Musician Joint 77 has disclosed that he did not benefit from his involvement with Shatta Wale; rather, the self-acclaimed Dancehall king benefitted from him.
According to him, he housed Shatta Wale for almost a year and paid his light and water bills without the musician paying a dime.
Speaking in an exclusive interview on the Max Morning Show in Accra on Monday, Joint 77 stated that Shatta Wale had been deceiving the public with his self-made story.
”Shatta Wale rather benefitted from me. I gave him a place to stay for almost one year; the water bill was on me, light bill on me, everything on me. Yeah,” he said.
Talking about the Toyota Camry Shatta bought for him, Joint 77 stated that the SM boss used the police to take back his car.
” He earlier bought a faulty car for me and told me I could change it if I didn’t like it, and I returned that faulty car. But, for his Toyota Camry, he took his car back with police,” he added.
Known in real life as Melvin Owusu, he was part of the Shatta Movement Militant group formed on April 6, 2017.
The group initially consisted of Captan (Captan Abdul Kadir), Addi Self (Jafaro Mohammed), and Joint 77 (Melvin da Joint), with Natty Lee later joining the collective.
Under the group, they released major smash hits, including Taking Over, Thunder Fire, and Chacha.
However, Shatta Wale officially dissolved and sacked the group members in January 2020, claiming the members of the group were lazy and found it difficult to write good lyrics.
