Generational manager and retired artiste manager Ricky Anokye has boldly declared that no Ghanaian musician can be compared to legendary highlife icon Ebo Taylor, insisting that he has done more than any other artiste in selling Ghana’s name on the global stage through creative arts and music.
Speaking on Accra-based Max 89.7 FM and Max TV during the entertainment programme “SHOWBIZ MAX” hosted by Kumi Kasa, Mr Anokye emphasised that Taylor’s international influence and decades-long contribution to highlife music remain unmatched.
According to Mr Anokye, not even celebrated musicians such as Daddy Lumba and Kwadwo Antwi can be placed on the same pedestal when it comes to projecting Ghana through music.
He described Ebo Taylor as “the only single individual who has sold Ghana as far as creative art or music is concerned,” highlighting the veteran musician’s global recognition, collaborations, and longstanding legacy as proof of his unmatched impact on Ghana’s cultural export.
