‎Twi singers are ‘boxed’ in Ghana—SK Frimpong

Date:

Gospel Minister SK Frimpong has expressed concern about how the division in the gospel industry is depriving local singers of gigs that might bring them money and impact their careers.‎

According to him, some stakeholders in the industry are boxing “Twi” singers and not giving them the needed platforms to make good song impartations that will shape lives and heal the sick.

Speaking in an exclusive interview on the Max Morning Show in Accra on Friday, SK Frimpong stated that the hypocrisy in the industry was getting out of hand and underscored the need for it to be stopped.

“Some people wanted to divide us by causing distinction between us, saying these people are from Kumasi; they sing local songs. They don’t even want to invite some set of musicians because they believe they will sing in twi,” he said.

SK Frimpong bemoaned that such a lifestyle was not helping the local music to break boundaries and expressed the need for unity.

‎”When we were singing ‘Ekwueme’ that song was in English right? My brothers and my sisters who think they sing brofo (English) so they’re so unique than everybody, it’s never like that. We are doing the work of God and the sad aspect is those saying there are divisions among us are the same people causing the division,” he added.
