Sports Minister on Otto Addo’s Future, Stadia Conditions

Date:

Hon. Kofi Adams, the minister of sports and recreation, has clarified Otto Addo as an employee of the state of Ghana.

Otto Addo, head coach of the Black Stars, though appointed by the Ghana Football Association (GFA), is being paid by the ministry.

The GFA is merely an organisation tasked to manage the football affairs of the country by the ministry of sports and recreation, according to Hon. Kofi Adams.

The sports minister lamented the poor state of the country’s various stadia, including even the Accra Sports Stadium.

He attributed the unenviable state of the stadia which have been unapproved in recent times for international fixtures due to poor maintenance practices.

Hon. Kofi Adams revealed the aim of making the Borteyman Sports Complex a sporting village with the plan of constructing a football stadium.
