#GhanaPremierLeague: RTU reveals the truth about Abdul Mumin Abdulai

Date:

The public relations officer of Real Tamale United (RTU), Abdul Mohammed, has dispelled rumors surrounding the departure of the head coach, Abdul Mumin Abdulai.

Various news outlets reported that the club let him go due to match-fixing allegations.

According to Abdul Mohammed, the head coach stepped aside after fans attacked him following a disagreement with his tactics, considering the team languishing at the bottom of the league standings.

The team swiftly took precautionary measures when irate fans made their feelings clear to the management of the club following their disappointing 1-2 home loss to Nsoatreman FC.

“It is true that our coach (Abdul Mumin Abdulai) has been asked to step aside for some reasons. For his safety and some security reasons, we asked him to step aside. We decided to mutually step aside with Real Tamale United. We did that not for anything but what happened in Nalerigu last Sunday.

After the match, the supporters were very angry and very disappointed. According to some of them, it was because of the actions that he took and the substitutions that he made that led to our defeat.

It had to take the intervention of the police officers to protect him. Supporters are saying they are not ready to work with him, and they can harm him any day, anytime he comes to train the players,” Mohammed said on Max 89.7 FM.

The feeling around the Pride of the North may be gloomy, as they look certain to be relegated to the Division One League next season.
