#BlackStars: Why David Akologo will ditch Bolivia for Ghana

Date:

Bolivia-based Ghanaian goalkeeper David Akologo has expressed his interest in representing the Black Stars of Ghana to the Football Association of Bolivia.

Akologo, who has long waited for an invitation to the Black Stars, was first called up by the senior national team of Bolivia before the returning head coach of Ghana, Otto Addo, named him in his 26-man squad for the upcoming international friendlies in March.

The former Mighty Jets goalie has confirmed to the technical team of Ghana his interest in playing for his land of birth, but he has so much love and respect for his host country.

According to sources, the Bolivians have agreed to let him leave, but they would like him to stay in camp with them until a replacement is named.

The player’s manager confirmed to the Head of Sports at IMAX Media, Yaw Ampofo Ankrah, his readiness to play for Ghana, a lifelong dream of his.
