Def Jam Recordings’ August 08, a vocalist and producer, passed away on Wednesday at the age of 31.
He became best known for co-writing Justin Bieber’s solo song Sorry and DJ Khaled’s blockbuster single I’m the One with Chance the Rapper, Quavo, and Lil Wayne. Ray Davon Jacobs was his real name.
The song Fashion Week by Wale and G-Easy was also written by the musician, who went by the stage name August Grant.
No cause of death was disclosed, however his passing was verified by his old record company 88rising and a family Instagram post.
