Adilson Cipriano da Cruz, nicknamed Neblu, the number one goalkeeper for the Palancas Negras of Angola, has warned of his team’s intention of continuing their perfect run in the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations qualifier.
Angola is billed to take on the Black Stars of Ghana on Friday, November 15, at 16:00 GMT, in the penultimate round of the qualifiers for the AFCON in Morocco in 2025.
Though they have already secured their progression to the continental showpiece, Angola are desperate to avoid a home upset or let any sense of complacency creep in ahead of the tournament.
The Angolans kicked off the qualifiers with a shocking 0-1 victory over the Black Stars of Ghana at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium thanks to Red Star Belgrade’s Felicio Milson’s late strike.
“The team is well motivated, and we are committed to another victory against Ghana. Between us the atmosphere is positive because we intend to play the full game, six games and the same number of wins. From me, you can expect the usual Neblu, focused on helping the team,” Neblu said to the Angolan press ahead of the game.
The Black Stars, whose qualification chances look grim, will be playing for pride now, hoping to avoid yet another defeat before taking on Niger in the last round on Monday, November 18, at the Accra Sports Stadium.
