Marriage and relationship expert Daniel Clifford Essien has advised wives living in compound houses to refrain from involving their husbands in household chores, especially washing.
The counsellor, speaking on the Max Morning Dew by Kumi Kasa and Akosua Greeno on Max 89.7 FM, emphasised that traditional roles must be respected while urging women living in shared compounds to be mindful of how to relate to their husbands.
Mr Essien further revealed his stance on husbands’ traditional roles has been strongly opposed, as many in modern times have come to believe men must have shared household chore responsibilities with the wives.
“It’s 2026, and we’re still stuck in the past,” said the counsellor.
However, stretching in marriage should be hand in hand. He also mentions that communication is the key to every sustainable marriage and not assumptions; therefore, couples must practise to harmonise their homes.
