The much-anticipated Nima vs Sabon Zongo Sharubutu Cup match will kick off the 10th edition of the prestigious Sheikh Sharubutu Ramadan Cup this Saturday.
Set for the Madina AstroTurf, the opener brings together two of Ghana’s most iconic Zongo communities. The Sharubutu Cup has grown into a major celebration of peace, unity, and football excellence among Zongo youth, held annually during Ramadan.
This year’s edition marks a decade of fostering community spirit through sport, with more than 30 Zongo communities expected to participate.
The organizing committee says the tournament continues to honour the National Chief Imam, Sheikh Osman Nuhu Sharubutu, for his lifelong commitment to peace and youth development.
“Starting the tournament with Nima vs Sabon Zongo is symbolic—it sets the tone for what promises to be a memorable 10th edition,” organizers shared.
Football fans can expect top-level competition, cultural displays, and inspiring messages of tolerance throughout the tournament
