Entertainment journalist MC Portfolio says rapper turned singer, King Paluta provided the biggest hit songs in Ghana in 2024 and deserved to be adjudged the Artist of the Year in the forthcoming Telecel Ghana Music Awards (TGMA).
According to him, the Paluta effect in the music scene in the year under review was more huge than musicians most especially Stonebwoy and King Promise who he is competing with for the coveted trophy.
Speaking in a phone interview with e-Quick on Max TV this Monday, MC Portfolio said Paluta topped music charts in the beginning of the year, middle and ending of 2024.
”Who even hijacked Ghana Music in 2024? This is not even a debate because per the year under review, the biggest hit songs for 2024 all came from the world of King Paluta and that can never be disputed,” he said.
MC Portfolio mentioned that the track “Aseda” set the tone for the year 2024, topping chats and crippling many gospel music in that time, then in the middle of the year “Makoma” ruled all over the country and during the election time, ending of 2024, Paluta overtook the entire music scenes with “Popping.”
That, he noted had made Paluta the biggest threat to even pundits on various entertainment shows who couldn’t bring data to back up their claims as to why Paluta never deserved the Artist of the Year Awards.
MC Portfolio’s statements followed his banter with the Public Relations Officer for Burniton Music Group, Vida Adutwumwaa who claimed Portfolio was only making a buzz because Stonebwoy acknowledged his contributions to his win in last year’s TGMA.
