Ghanaian gospel musician Mavis Asante has opened up about a deeply personal chapter of her marriage, revealing that her husband, Prophet Christ Asante, popularly known as Abruku Abruka, gave up a life of luxury for love when they first met.

Speaking in an interview on Max FM’s Morning Dew Show on February 20, 2026, hosted by Kumi Kasa and Akosua Greeno, the celebrated singer reflected on how their relationship began at a time when she had very little to her name.

“My husband met me when I was nobody in 2009. He loved me genuinely and was ready to support my dreams. He even took me to Mentor,” she shared.
