Artiste manager Bullgod has expressed concern about how rapper Kwesi Arthur has put his former talent group owner, Glen Boateng, in harm’s way.
He termed Kwesi Arthur’s act as selfish and expressed disappointment in the rapper for his unconventional method of getting the Ground Up Chale boss off his tail.
Speaking in an interview with Showbiz Max on Max FM on Saturday, the artist manager indicated that Kwesi Arthur was ignorant, selfish and a hypocrite for acting ungratefully to a talent discoverer who brought him to the limelight.
The reason why Ghanaian industry is not excelling is what Kwesi Arthur is doing and what some other artists have done already. If we continue like this, we can’t go anywhere. If something bothers you address it but the manner Kwesi Arthur went with it was bad.
He went to post an image of a person to hold him responsible for anything that would happen to him. What are you trying to do? You’re putting the person in harm’s way. You are causing the public’s disaffection for the person. If you have an issue, address it. Don’t make the person an enemy of the state. It is not right,” Bullgod lamented.
Bullgod maintained that the ingratitude on behalf of some artistes was gradually making record labels an unappealing business for individuals to venture into.
His comments come days after Kwesi Arthur accused his former record label, Ground Up Chale, of allegedly intimidating and exploiting him.
In a strongly worded social media post, the award-winning artiste suggested that his personal safety could be at risk, stating that if “anything happens” to him, key figures at Ground Up Chale including co-founder Glen Boateng should be held responsible.
He alleged that the label is demanding $150,000 for using his own images in a new independent project, despite no longer being affiliated with the company.
According to the rapper, Ground Up Chale has claimed ownership of his image, music and all creative works associated with him from 2016 to date.
