Veteran highlife musician and actress, Paulina Oduro, says Kofi Kinaata’s talent and contributions to the music industry transcend the need for validation from award schemes.
Her comment comes after the “Team Move” fans expressed concern regarding his omission from the “Artiste of the Year” category at the 26th Telecel Ghana Music Awards (TGMA).
Speaking in an interview with the media to address the issue, Paulina said the “Things Fall Apart” hitmaker was unique and did not need award recognition before he would be seen as big in the country.
“He is bigger than that [TGMA’s Artist of the year], and we know who he is. He is cute, and handsome, and he can sing and rap, so he doesn’t need it,” she said.
Paulina praised Kofi Kinaata for elevating Western Region and Takoradi, noting, his impact in the music space and called for support to promote his craft.
“Kofi Kinaata is my passion because he is from where I am from. From where he started, I am proud of him because he has taken the Western Region and Takoradi to a level where nobody has,” she added.
