An embarrassing but dangerous incident occurred in Buipe in the Savannah Region of Ghana involving five personnel of the Ghana National Fire Service (GNFS).
En route to fight an inferno in a community in Buipe, the team’s fire engine veered off the road and fell on its side.
The injured personnel were taken to the Buipe Government Hospital for treatment and discharged, while two remain in critical condition.
DOII Salisu Mohammed Sirilbaini, Savannah Regional Public Relations Officer of the GNFS, Savannah Regional Commander, said DO2 Abubakar Alhassan dispatched additional firefighters from Damango to assist their colleagues to fight the fire.
