The first Ghanaian to ever qualify the country to a FIFA World Cup competition, who passed away on August 12, 2024, Coach Oko Aryee, will be buried on October 12, 2024.
He was 83 years old at the time of his death. The Ressurection Methodist Church, located in Adenta, Accra, will host the final funeral services of the late gallant coach.
A former head coach of Accra Hearts of Oak and the now-demoted AshantiGold Sporting Club, Coach Oko led the Black Queens to the 2003 FIFA Women’s World Cup, and the Ghana U-16 to the 1991 FIFA U-17 World Cup.
Coach Oko, who nurtured the developments of a number of Black Stars legends, is survived by his wife and children.
