Davido praises himself over global recognition of Afrobeats

Date:

Nigerian artiste Davido says his influence in promoting Afrobeats in Africa and the world can never be over emphasized.

He said he played a vital role in the popularity of Afrobeats, and his name can never be excluded from the Afrobeats narrative.

The Grammy-nominated artiste said this in an Instagram post as he prepared for the release of his fifth studio album, 5IVE, scheduled to debut in March 2025.

“Afrobeats can’t be brought up without my name. Impossible. The genre-defying pioneer has brought his sound to the attention of millions, and with his new album ‘5ive’ coming March 2025, he truly has the world at his feet,” he said.

Widely celebrated for his international success, Davido has played a key role in projecting Afrobeats to global recognition.

His latest single, “Funds,” earned a Grammy nomination this year, generating buzz online.

The artiste has collaborated with many international artistes bringing to the attention of the world the uniqueness of the afrobeats genre.
