Davido explains his motivation for embracing music

Date:

Nigerian afrobeats sensation Davido has dismissed claims that he chose music to make money from the profession.

‎According to him, there were billions of dollars waiting for him if he had not even ventured that career path.

‎Speaking with Nigerian music executive, Bankuli backstage in Toronto during his 5alivetour, Davido vehemently declared that money was not his motivation in singing.

‎“It’s not for the money. I got billions of dollars waiting for me if I don’t work a day in my life today. Whether it’s 100 people, 10 people, or 19,000 people, it’s the same sh** for me. I love it. I love my job,” he said.

‎The “Available” hitmaker recalled the backlash that surmounted him after choosing the musical career path and expressed gratitude to all those who strengthened and supported him.

‎“There’s individual strength and mental ability that goes into this type of work, especially with a lot of odds against me. So it’s like, f**k I got to do it. I’m grateful to God, my friends, everyone who helped me, even people I don’t even remember,”
‎ he said.

‎Davido also praised himself for not relenting an effort but kept on tight to make his dreams come true.

‎“And I’m grateful to myself for being hardworking,” he added.
