The Chief Executive Officer of Bibiani Gold Stars, Kwasi Adu, has expressed confidence in his club causing an upset in Algeria.
The defending champions of the Ghana Premier League, Gold Stars, are poised to take on Algeria’s JS Kabylie in the preliminary round of the 2025/26 CAF Champions League.
Many football commentators have expressed less faith in the Ghanaian club to overcome the experienced Algerian club in the qualifiers.
However, ahead of the two-legged rounds, Mr Adu shared extreme confidence in his club’s ability to shock JS Kabylie.
“I don’t let what people say discourage me. Mother Ghana should expect us to compete professionally. We will fight hard. If we are able to progress, then we say we have shown true colours of yellow and green,” said Mr Adu.
He disclosed the Algerians are often on his club’s social media timelines—monitoring their every activity. This, according to the CEO, shows the maximum respect being shown to his team.
Bibiani Gold Stars will take on Sierra Leone’s East End Lions or Tunisia’s US Monastirienne should they beat JS Kabylie in the first preliminary stage of the competition.
