Nigerian superstar, Ademola Lookman, has reflected on Atlético Madrid’s UEFA Champions League victory over Manchester United on Tuesday night.
Diego Simeone’s side defeated the Premier League giants 2-0 at the Metropolitano Stadium.
Pablo Barrios opened the scoring for the Spanish side in the first minute, finishing off an assist from Alex Baena to give the hosts an early advantage.
Lookman, who came on for Julián Álvarez in the 71st minute, sealed the victory eight minutes later with a simple tap-in to make it 2-0.
The Super Eagles of Nigeria winger said the win was significant for Atlético.
“We know how big of a win that is for us,” Lookman told CBS Sports Golazo.
“The guys put on a big performance before I come on, so it’s easy to come into the team and play.”
