The Black Queens of Ghana grabbed a 3-0 victory over Mauritius in the first leg of their 2028 Los Angeles Olympic Games qualifier on Thursday.
Early pressure from the Black Queens paid off in the 16th minute when Abigail Kim opened the scoring for a 1-0 lead.
The Queens continued to control proceedings, with Stella Nyamekye coming close from a free kick in the 22nd minute, although her effort went off target.
Alice Kusi found the back of the net in the 24th minute to put Ghana 2-0 up, as Mauritius struggled to contain Ghana’s attacking pressure as the Queens continued to threaten.
Ghana’s dominance was rewarded again in first-half stoppage time when Benedicte Simon unleashed a long-range effort to make it 3-0 in the 45+3rd minute.
The Black Queens continued to search for further goals after the restart, while Mauritius looked to limit the damage in the second half.
Despite further efforts from both sides, Ghana held on to secure a 3-0 away victory ahead of the second leg on home soil.
