The United States of America men’s national team continue their impressive post World Cup international friendly games as they beat Mexico by 3-0 scoreline on Saturday evening.
Striker Julian Hall broke the deadlock on the 28th minute in the first half to put the Americans in the lead. The striker pounced on a loose ball in the penalty box after the Mexican goalkeeper failed to properly deal with a low cross to put the home side in the lead heading into the halftime break .
Back from recess, the Americans continued from where they left off and got the second goal through Cavan Sullivan on the 62nd minute after a moment of poor judgement from the Mexican goalkeeper who played a pass straight to him. The midfielder picked up the loose ball and punished the goalkeeper for that horrendous error from a long range shot.
The home side finished off the game after Malik Tillman got the third goal on the 85th minute. Pochetino’s young looking side continue to impress on the international stage.
At the post match press conference , American manager Mauricio Pochetino heaped special praises on the overall mentality of his young side and made mention of midfielder Cavan Sullivan who became the youngest goal scorer in the history of the United States men’s national team at the age of seventeen.
He also spoke about how lethal young striker Julian Hall has become on the international scene. The striker scored three goals in three appearances for the USA.
The USA will now turn their attention to their final game of this international window against Canada on Tuesday the 6th of October 2026.
