The Football Administrators of Ghana (FAG) have categorically stated that it is not in their interest to deliberate on Kurt Okraku’s third-term bid.

The association group, recently formed to address critical issues pertaining to football administrators in Ghana, met with the president of the Ghana Football Association (GFA) on Wednesday night.

Kurt Okraku, who also serves as the 2nd Vice President of the Confederation of African Football and Chairman of FIFA’s anti-racism and anti-discrimination committee, was in attendance at the start of the 2026 GHALCA Top 4.

Interim president of FAG, lawyer Ralph Gyamerah, while in an interview on Max FM’s Sports Pack show, shut down growing rumours of the group’s aim to stop Mr Okraku’s bid for a third GFA presidency term.

“The FAG is not focused on Kurt Okraku’s GFA presidency third-term bid – Lawyer Ralph Gyamerah, President of Football Administrators of Ghana,” he said to Nana Darkwah Gyasi.

Lawyer Gyamerah cited some of the tenets of the group in the football ecosystem:

• Regulate the behaviour of people (members) and ensure the right things are done.
• Ensure administrators are certified, as incompetent administrators have run some clubs down.
• Open to everyone with interest in football.
• Support administrators in difficult times. i.e., facing disciplinary committees.

A main point the interim president often iterated is the fact that the FAG has no interest in becoming a member of the Ghana Football Association.

Interim members of the executive council of the FAG are Ralph Gyamer (President), Afua Achiaa Boateng (Vice President), Kwabena Asenso (Treasurer), Paul Ayamba (General Secretary), Elloeny Amande (Legal), Paa Kwesi Arbuah (Operations), and Eric Alagidede (Communications).

Members of the executive council will serve only one term (four years) and can choose to stand for elections when their tenure expires.
