World Cup dream not over— Chantelle Boye-Hlorkah

Date:

Chantelle Boye-Hlorkah, winger for the Ghana Black Queens, took to social media to share an emotional message reflecting on her country’s 2026 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON) campaign.

The Nottingham Forest forward expressed immense pride in donning the national colors despite the emotional rollercoaster of the tournament.

“Proud to wear this shirt. Proud of this group,” wrote Boye-Hlorkah, emphasizing unity and gratitude for the fans who supported the Black Queens throughout the tournament.

She acknowledged that the campaign was full of “highs, lows, moments of frustration, [and] moments of joy,” noting that while it didn’t begin as she hoped, she kept fighting until the end.

Looking ahead, she reminded supporters that the dream remains alive, “Our World Cup journey isn’t over. There’s still a door open — and we’ll keep fighting to walk through it.”

“Some chapters don’t end the way you imagined, but they still change you.”
“This tournament tested us in more ways than one. There were highs, lows, moments of frustration, moments of joy, and lessons I’ll carry with me long after leaving camp.”
“Personally, I had to find my way through it, too. It didn’t begin how I wanted, but I kept going, kept believing, and kept fighting until the end.”
“That’s football. That’s life.”
“Proud to wear this shirt. Proud of this group. Grateful for every person who supported us through it all. 💗💛💚”
“Our World Cup journey isn’t over. There’s still a door open — and we’ll keep fighting to walk through it.”
“For now, thank you, WAFCON.”
“We continue.”
