Sudan head coach James Kwesi Appiah has been sounded out as the one to replace Otto Addo.
Otto Addo was informed in a crunch meeting at the Black Stars team hotel in Stuttgart last night following the defeat to Germany.
The German-raised tactician, Addo, had come under pressure for a string of poor results since Ghana qualified for the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
The defeat to the Germans, despite a spirited showing by the Ghanaians, was the straw that finally broke the camel’s back.
Scores are also of the thought that Ghana’s road to the World Cup was not convincing, as the team scrapped through poor football displays to grind the results for qualification.
Having impressed with the senior national team of Sudan, Kwesi Appiah is being touted for another return as head coach of the Black Stars.
Kwesi Appiah, in time, memorialized Ghana with his Sudanese warriors during the qualifiers for the 2025 AFCON, as the former finished bottom.
The mammoth failure of reaching the AFCON was forgiven by Ghanaian football authorities as faith was kept in Otto Addo, which he somehow repaid with a ticket to the global showpiece.
