Coach Ibrahim Tanko must be feeling the heat after Bibiani Goldstars knocked Medeama SC off 1st place on the 2025/26 Ghana Premier League standings.
It’s no secret that Medeama SC’s bankroller Moses Armah Parker has his eyes set on a return to continental football, but Ibrahim Tanko appears to have other thoughts.
The Tarkwa-based club suffered a not-so-surprising 2-1 defeat at the hands of Dreams FC, while their closest contender Goldstars laboured to a 1-0 win over Vision FC.
Medeama enjoyed a comfortable lead at the top of the league log till a loss to Nations FC in matchweek 20, sparking a downward spiral.
Goldstars, who began the season in bad form after embarrassing CAF Champions League group stage qualifiers, silently managed to climb up under the leadership of Fritz Markus Schmid after the sacking of Nana Yaw Amankwah, who replaced title-winner Frimpong Manso.
