President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo has sworn in Dr Benjamin Barfo-Bonney as the new Deputy Commissioner of the Commission on Human Rights and Administrative Justice (CHRAJ).
He administered the oath of allegiance, the official oath and the oath of secrecy to the new deputy commissioner.
President Akufo-Addo said the appointment reflected the commitment of the government in holding rights, promoting administrative justice and deepening democratic governance in the country.
He said that Dr Barfo-Bonney had demonstrated leadership, legal expertise and public service.
As deputy commissioner, the President said Dr Barfo-Bonney would be called upon to navigate the complexities of making governance and human rights decisions.
“Dr Barfo-Bonnie, I say this, the task before you is immense, but so is the opportunity to make a lasting impact.
“The people of Ghana are counting on you to bring your expertise, your integrity and your passion to bear on the important work of CHRAJ.
“You have my full support and that of my government as you embark on this new chapter,” he said.
