Addressing journalists at a press briefing, NDC Communications Director Sammy Gyamfi underscored the need for vigilance and active participation in the ongoing collation process.
“On behalf of our leader, John Dramani Mahama, and the incoming president of Ghana, we urge all supporters to head to their constituency collation centers,” Gyamfi stated. “If you were at the polling station during the declaration, ensure you follow the ballot boxes and other electoral materials to the EC collation center.
“For those not at polling stations, this is your time to step in. You’ve cast your votes, they’ve been counted and declared, but now you must protect those results. This stage of constituency collation is critical, and our leader wants us all to hold off on jubilation until results are collated and declared at the constituency level.”
Gyamfi emphasized that only after party collation agents have signed the results forms and received copies should celebrations begin.
He also urged party agents at collation centers to stay focused, monitor proceedings closely, and promptly report any irregularities to ensure a transparent process.
The NDC’s caution comes amid rising anticipation as preliminary results continue to emerge from polling stations nationwide. “Jubilation should only follow the EC’s declaration of results at the collation centers,” Gyamfi concluded.
