On Thursday night, at the Prison’s Basketball Court in Accra, the Spintex Knights won the Greater Accra Basketball League (ABL) Men’s Division 1 championship by soundly defeating the Braves of the Ghana Revenue Authority, the reigning champions, 74-40, in the second game of their best-of-three series.
After defeating the Braves twice in the regular season and winning the first game 66-58, the Spintex Knights were well-assured winners going into Game Two.
The Knights dominated the quarters, as evidenced by their scores of 12–6 in the opening, 30–15 in the second, 51–30 in the third, and 74–40 in the end.
“We did our best, but because they are the better team, they won. We will take it like that, but we live to fight another day. Of course, we are disappointed because we couldn’t give our best, but we will bounce back and beat them next season,” said Braves’ captain Dogbetsi.
