MAX BUSINESS: Why MTN Ghana revised its tariffs

Date:

The giant telecom operator MTN Ghana has formally announced its revised tariffs, which go into effect today, November 28, 2023.

MTN explained that, in contrast to prior reports of rising operational costs, the rate increases were driven by regulatory obligations in an advertisement that appeared in the Daily Graphic newspaper on November 28, 2023.

The company’s offerings, including calls, SMS, and data, are impacted by the price increases.

A Turbonet fixed package with 4.3 gigabytes costs currently GHS43 according to the updated prices. In the meantime, the 350-gigabyte bundle is now available for GH₵516 and the 91-gigabyte bundle has been refunded to GH₵253.

Revisions to MTN’s Broadband Special Bundles have also been made higher. Customers may now obtain a 39-gigabyte bundle for GH₵150 and a 195-gigabyte package for GH₵300.
