Jordan Ayew: I am not perturbed over lack of goals

Date:

Jordan Ayew, a striker for Ghana, has stated he is not bothered by the current dearth of goals for both club and country.

Jordan Ayew, who is a former forward for Swansea City and Aston Villa, has had trouble scoring goals and has gained attention for the wrong reasons.

30-year-old Jordan Ayew managed to score three goals in 31 games last year.

However, Jordan scored in Saturday’s 5-4 preseason triumph over Millwall for Crystal Palace.

“I’m a player who likes to play football and enjoy the game and I like to make sure that my team also wins the game whether I score or my teammate’s score,” he told Accra-based radio station.

“So, obviously there is pressure for me to score but it doesn’t bother me at all because the most important thing for me is to enjoy playing football,” Jordan Ayew said.

Jordan Ayew claims that his team’s qualification for the upcoming Africa Cup of Nations in Côte d’Ivoire is his main priority.

“The most important thing is that we should qualify and after we will see.

“The most important thing is the qualification and we are not yet qualified.

“The most important thing for us is to qualify and when the time comes, it’s far away, we have the World Cup, the qualifications before the AFCON,” he added.

In 79 appearances for Ghana’s Black Stars in other countries, Jordan Ayew has scored 18 goals.

When Crystal Palace hosts Arsenal in August of the upcoming English Premier League season, he is anticipated to start for boss Patrick Vieira.

Jordan is likely to be selected for Ghana’s World Cup team in 2022, which will take place in Qatar later this year.
