The president of the Ghana Armwrestling Federation, Mr Charles Osei-Assibey, has confirmed four Ghanaian boxers are set for battle.

As a member of the Ghana Olympics Association, Mr Assibey spoke to Sports Pack host Nana Darkwa Gyasi on Max 89.7 FM.

One of these four boxers to kick off the boxing event at the 2026 Commonwealth Games is Abdul Wahid Omar.

Wahid Omar will take on Russian-born English boxer Patrice Mughalzai in the Men’s 70kg bout at 18:45 Scotland time.

The Ghanaian boxer is a bronze medallist from the 2022 edition of the games.
