Karim Zito felt let down after a crunch meeting with the Interim Management Committee (IMC) of Asante Kotoko.
Following a series of bad on-field results, the IMC called for a meeting with Zito on Monday, February 9, 2026.
Kojo Adda-Mensah, CEO of Databank and a respected sports pundit, connoted Zito’s exit to the mistrust he felt from the IMC.
According to Mr Addae-Mensah, Zito was handed an ultimatum to turn things around against long-time rivals Hearts of Oak in the upcoming Super Clash on Sunday.
Despite the ultimatum, Zito felt the club’s management showed little to no confidence in him after his achievement with the club since taking over in April 2025.
Zito chalked remarkable success with Kotoko by winning the 2024-25 MTN FA Cup, the Super Cup, and the Toyota Cup and leading them to the second round of the preliminary qualifying stage of the 2025-26 CAF Confederation Cup.
