Public Relations Officer of Elmina Sharks FC Kingsley Arthur, has questioned why eyes have been drawn onto his club’s owner, Dr. Papa Kwesi Ndoum.
Elmina Sharks have recently come under public scrutiny following viral videos of players and officials attacking match officials.
On Sunday, February 16, 2025, confusion erupted during a Division One league game at the Ndoum stadium between Sharks and Swedru All Blacks when referee Morrison awarded a penalty in the 15th minute of the game.
Arthur described the referee’s decision as “mystical” and “mysterious,” which forced Papa Ndoum to rush down to the field to calm boiling tempers.
He wondered whether the numerous allegations levelled against the club owner are simply because he’s an opinionated man and well-known in the political space.
“It leads to more questions to be answered. Is the club owner being targeted? Is it because he is a critic of the Football Association? Is it because he is calling for the right things to be done? He was part of the normalization committee… What is his offence? He doesn’t make money from football,” Arthur said in an interview on Max FM’s Sports Pack show.
Dr. Ndoum expressed his dissatisfaction with the unconcerned match officials and commissioner regarding the events that unfolded at the Elmina stadium.
