Abokobi– A suspected land guard named Saviour Kojo Ekpe has been arrested by the police at Abokobi in the Greater Accra Region.
Investigators linked him to acts of threatening citizens and illegal possession of firearms in the area.
This operation took place on the 5th of March 2026 after investigators noticed that the suspect was initially renting out weapons to criminals, while threatening residents in Abokobi and its environs.
Four action pump guns were retrieved during a search which was conducted in his room along with a 101 AA and BB live cartridges, one Glock Austria pistol, 17 rounds of 9mm ammunition and a jackknife.
The suspect confessed ownership of the weapons and couldn’t prove that they had been registered by the law. He claimed he used some for hunting and for self defense.
Investigators believe that the weapons he had were given out to criminals for unlawful activities.
Emmanuel Abbey, who is believed to be an accomplice of Saviour, was also arrested by the police for threatening citizens.
Both are expected to assist in investigations as they are currently in police custody.
