Artiste manager who doubles as an entertainment critic, Nana Poku Ashis has named dancehall artiste Shatta Wale as the King of the Streets.

According to him, the numbers Shatta Wale managed to pull during his Shatta Fest, which coincided with his 41st birthday celebration held on Saturday at the Black Star Square proves his influence on the streets.

Speaking on the Max Morning Show in Accra on Tuesday, Ashis indicated that the streets determined their king, and they massively appeared to drum home the fact that Shatta Wale is their king.

‎”Numbers don’t lie and that is evidence. No doubt that Shatta Wale is the king of the streets, the streets have its owner and they have showed up. It was crazy, and that is the streets. Shatta Wale undoubtedly is the king of the streets,” he stressed.

Just like 2Pac, Ashis said Shatta Wale had revolutionised the industry, which in turn had made many view him as a demigod.

‎”Shatta Wale is a freedom fighter, and when you get a revolutionist, people follow that revolution. They see him as a demigod. If a person like Vybz Kartel holds a trumpet to call him Africa’s dancehall king, forget it. It’s done!” he emphasised.
