The welfare of students of Taviefe SHS, located in the Volta Region, has been seriously affected by a lack of access to clean water.
The headmaster of the school, Sadrack Abiwu, disclosed how several appeals made to authorities appear to have fallen on deaf ears.
“Management has made several appeals because access to clean water is critical to health, sanitation, and effective teaching and learning,” he said to Channel One.
The worrisome situation is affecting teaching and learning, creating a major setback for the school in terms of living conditions.
Two second-year students, Faith Akordor and Sandra Agbloyor, in their interaction with the press, said students are forced to rely on stream water because water doesn’t flow on campus.
“We know the stream water is not safe, but when there is no water on campus, that is where we go,” they said.
