Sources close to Brahim Diaz reportedly indicate that the Real Madrid and Moroccan international has embraced Islam.
The news gained attention after Brahim Diaz was seen at a Ramadan iftar at Madrid’s Islamic Cultural Center, where he joined members of the Moroccan community.
The event took place on Thursday evening in a warm atmosphere with strong participation from Moroccan residents. Witnesses said Diaz wanted to share the moment with his compatriots, showing his connection to Moroccan traditions and spirituality during Ramadan.
Brahim Diaz was raised in Malaga, Spain, in a family with Moroccan roots through his father, Sufiel Abdelkader Diaz. For much of his career, his religious affiliation was not publicly discussed, and he was generally identified as Christian by upbringing.
Recent reports, however, suggest that Diaz has embraced Islam, with Imam Adil Hachmi in Madrid confirming that the player prayed with him at the mosque.
While no official announcement has been made by Diaz or his representatives, his presence at the event and the imam’s confirmation have strengthened reports of his conversion.
