A brawl sparked in the Campeonato Mineiro final saw 23 red cards dished out, marring the game.
Cruzeiro was beating Atletico Mineiro by 1-0 when the shocking violence took place in the 90+6 minutes.
Atletico’s goalkeeper Everson pushed Cruzeiro midfielder Christian to the ground.
Christian’s teammates all confronted Everson, which sparked a melee involving every player on the pitch, substitutes, coaches, and security staff.
Security personnel and military police were called in to restore order.
Referee Matheus Candancan stopped the match for 10 minutes before the game was allowed to finish.
A total of 23 red cards were handed out, which is a Brazilian record.
The previous record was 22 in 1954 between Portuguesa and Botafogo.
