Highlife musical icon Kwaisey Pee has expressed concern about how his contributions in the industry are not appreciated, acknowledged, and celebrated enough.
The musician who is celebrating his 25 years in the industry with a grand concert says his journey has been a rollercoaster ride.
Speaking in an interview with the Max Morning Show on Max FM in Accra on Monday to promote his upcoming legacy concert, Kwaisey Pee felt that he was not celebrated enough but was hopeful that his hard work would be noticed and be celebrated as it should.
”Of course yes! But I am hopeful since I have strength and I am still in the game. I am hoping things will get changed soon,” he said.
Touching on his 25-year journey in the industry, the “Menhia Odo” hitmaker stated that the journey had not been smooth, but he had been able to sail through.
”25 years I want to celebrate my journey in music for a cause. I came up with this fundraising concert to raise money to foot the medical bills of 25 children with cancer. To cure cancer is not easy. I got this idea because of my father, who died from cancer,” he added.
Kwaisey Pee’s 25-year grand anniversary concert is slated for December 25, 2025, at De Icon Event Centre, East Legon, in Greater Accra.
The celebration, themed 25:25:25, honours a quarter-century of artistry from the respected voice in contemporary highlife.
