Accra — Renowned veteran actor George Appiah Kubi, known popularly as Paa George, says he has not been able to build a house in Accra and has been renting since 1963.
According to him, the movie industry was not as lucrative as it is today.
Speaking in an exclusive interview with Max Drive in Accra on Wednesday, the veteran actor stated that he used the money he made from his career to cater to his children in the university.
”I couldn’t build a house. I am still renting because there’s no money in acting during our days, so we worked out of passion for the job. I only had a family house which I renovated, but ever since I came to Accra, I have been renting since 1963,” he stated.
Paa George further explained that when he was making money at that time, he was married with kids and had to invest the money in the education of his children to the university level.
