Music producer Wei Ye Oteng has called on musicians to create a niche in the industry to enable them gain the needed sponsors when they organize events.
According to him, brands look for excellence and individuals who can give them value before associating with those individuals.
Oteng gave the advice when he was talking on the Max Morning Show in Accra on Tuesday about the economic benefits the country derived from the Shatta Fest and the Shattaberation held on Saturday at the Black Star Square.
”Every brand wants to associate with a brand that can give mileage to the brand. As musicians, we should do well to find a niche for our brands to market so much and so well that when corporate Ghana comes in, their job will be easy and profitable,” he said.
Oteng maintained that Shatta Wale was able to get MTN Momo on his side as against the number of proposals on their table due to how Shatta Wale had built his niche market.
He noted that Shatta Wale made the work of his sponsors much easier as they were able to pitch whatever information to the masses through just one medium.
