Ghana’s entertainment industry has been thrown into mourning following the reported death of veteran actor and broadcaster Seth Kwame Dzokoto in the early hours of Thursday, October 22, 2026.
Sources close to the actor have confirmed his passing, although details surrounding the circumstances of his death are yet to be officially disclosed.
In September 2026, the actor disclosed that he had been battling blood pressure-related and heart-related health complications. He explained that the intervention of First Lady Lordina Mahama led to Ibrahim Mahama arranging and funding his surgery outside Ghana.
The actor also addressed public concerns about his physical appearance after videos of him at a public event sparked speculation about his health. He urged the public and media practitioners to verify information before circulating reports about his health.
Popularly known for his role in the long-running Ghanaian television series ‘Efiewura,’ Dzokoto earned a place in the hearts of many viewers through his comic performances and distinctive screen presence. He also worked in radio and television broadcasting and hosted programmes that connected with audiences across the country.
Beyond entertainment, Dzokoto ventured into politics and contested the 2016 parliamentary election in the Tarkwa-Nsuaem Constituency on the ticket of the National Democratic Congress (NDC).
His reported passing is expected to spark tributes from colleagues, political associates, fans, and members of the public who followed his career across the entertainment and media landscape.
