Relegated Nations FC Shocks Dreams To Win FA Cup

Nations Football Club has become the first relegated Ghana Premier League club to win the MTN FA Cup.

For a relegated team to win against all odds and qualify for the 2026/27 CAF Confederations Cup was simply unthinkable.

Cup favorites Dreams FC were expected to finally make a return to continental football after Razack Salifu drew them level on the stroke of halftime.

Joseph Effah had stunned Dreams FC with the opening for Nations FC in the 34th minute before Salifu’s equalizing header.

Nations remained resolute, holding out for a penalty shootout, where they shockingly won 5-4, thereby squashing the dreams and hopes of the Still Believe boys returning to the Confederations Cup.
