2024-25 UCL: Ibrahim Osman dazzles in Feyenoord win over Girona

Date:

Ghanaian international Ibrahim Osman proved instrumental in Feyenoord’s 2-3 away win over Girona in a blockbuster encounter as both sides missed penalties.

Feyenoord traveled away to Catalonia to take on Girona in the second matchday of the 2024-25 UEFA Champions League.

Girona went into the game determined to win their first ever European game, but instead got stunned by Feyenoord’s never-say-die display.

A foul on Osman by Herrera led to the Dutch team’s equalizer in the 23rd minute after David Lopez had given the Spaniards the lead. Timber connects Paixao’s cross, which deflected off Herrera into the net.

Osman, on loan from Brighton, was a constant menace on the right side till he was replaced by Ramiz Zerrouki in the 61st minute.

Teenager Antoni Milambo gave Feyenoord the lead for the first time in the game before halftime, but former Manchester United flop Donny van de Beek scored his first goal for Girona before another own-goal, this time by Ladislav Krejci, gave Feyenoord the win.
