Tunisia kicked off their 2025 Africa Cup of Nations campaign in style, securing a convincing statement-making victory on the opening day of Group C.
The Carthage Eagles claimed a 3-1 win over Uganda, as Skhiri opened the scoring early in the match before Elias Achouri stole the spotlight with a brace despite Uganda pulling one back in stoppage time.
In the group’s other fixture, Nigeria overcame Tanzania 2-1. Semi Ajayi broke the deadlock in the 36th minute before Charles M’Mombwa equalized for Tanzania in the 50th. Ademola Lookman quickly restored the Super Eagles’ lead with the eventual winner in the 52nd minute.
